About Melinda

Hello! My name is Melinda and I am an educator. I currently work as a high school classroom aide in the School District of Philadelphia and last year I was a classroom aide in a sixth grade math class and I led an after-school homework help program for sixth graders. I am also a swim instructor--happy to help with homework or swimming. I'd describe my personality as joyful, curious, and hard-working. I started babysitting for my neighbors when I was 13, and have had various childcare positions since then. I was a summer camp counselor, lifeguard, swim instructor, teacher's aide, tutor, and I also taught private music lessons. In my spare time, I like to read (Lord of the Rings is my favorite!), crochet, play trombone, cook, and bike. I have degrees in neuroscience and music performance in trombone. If your kid loves music, I'm happy to teach them!
