Working with children is really dear to me. I have been caring for children since I was about 12 years old. In the most recent years, I had two children I watched regularly during the week. I picked up one from school, worked on completing homework, and made sure dinner was made, she was 9 and I continued to work with her until she was 11. One child was a year and a half when I first started caring for her. She will be starting kindergarten soon, so I make it a point to see her at least once a month since she's become a really important part of my life. I would work on numbers, counting, flashcards, reading books, being interactive and playing music and dancing, she is now a really joyful child, and laughs constantly. A sweetheart, and I do my best to attend activities she's involved in, such as dance. I also work with and adoption agency every summer, at a summer camp for trans-racially adopted children. This is the work that is most rewarding to me. Doing sports activities, arts and crafts, and many other fun things.
