About Melaina

Originally from the Pacific Northwest, my family and I moved to the Boise area in 2013 with the intention of moving back to the PNW. Here we still are, 11 years later, and we have fallen in love with this area as so many others have over the last few years. I have been working with children in varying official capacities since 2009 (unofficially, since my little brother was born in 1997). Until about 2021, childcare was a job I did while pursuing other career paths. Again and again, I kept coming back to childcare. I decided to make childcare my official career and take measures to ensure that I excelled in it. I received my Montessori Certification in 2023. I am well versed in the positive discipline approach. While I may not follow my Montessori training to a "t," I truly believe in meeting a child where they are at. As a Boise City Childcare License holder, I take continued education classes every year. I am so looking forward to meeting more Boise families!
