About Mela

Over 2 decades of experience as a nanny, preschool teacher, etc. I specialize in infant care and in neurodivergent children. Some of my favorite activities with kids are reading, doing arts and crafts, baking, making up silly games, and exploring outside. I believe children thrive when they feel safe and loved and when they have plenty of time to be playful and creative. I believe in problem solving rather than punishing and that all behavior is communication. I have experience with children of all ages but am especially fond of working with infants -preschoolers. I'm an expert and swaddling and soothing and have helped many babies get on a healthy sleep schedule. I am open to nanny shares or families with multiple children. Experience with twins, autism, feeding tubes, seizures, etc. I am an adoptive mom to two girls age 12 and 9 who often accompany me on nanny jobs when they're not in school. They both love helping out with babies and younger kids and are very friendly and caring.
