About Mekdese

Hello! My name is Mekdese. I am a first generation Ethiopian-American born & raised in Houston, Texas. Along with my fav title being an aunty to my 4 nephews & 2 nieces, I have over 15 years of child-care experience. My experience encompasses serving infants - teens ranging from play care drop off centers, full time daycares and Montessori's, community organizations, and school districts including H. I. S. D. and Alief I. S. D. My educational background is a B. S. in Sociology from the University of Houston-Downtown with courses in Early Childhood Education. My favorite age group is infants and toddlers, but regardless of the age or stage, I have experience and love watching children grow. I believe in children learning through play and discovery and believe in restorative, non-punitive discipline. I tailor every caretaking experience according to the mission and values of the family. Your child/children will not only be supervised, but be engaged in a fun supportive time.
