Mary is a miracle-worker. It will be hard to describe all of the different ways she has helped me and my family, but I will do my best to capture the highlights to give you an idea of the immense value this caregiver will provide for your family. Mary started with us when our daughter was three months old. She could only contact nap during the day and at night we were barely getting by, spending hours to get her to sleep, and being up multiple times a night. On Mary’s first day, our baby was able to sleep on the bassinet without being held to sleep. She worked tirelessly with us, navigating our daughter’s challenging sleep issues, and helped us teach her how to sleep. She had offered to sleep train her herself overnight, which she has done for other families before. It was our choice not to do so. But there were countless nights I would still struggle, and Mary would take my texts and calls, giving me advice through the night, even though she was not expected or obligated to. This is but one of many examples of Mary’s dedication to her families and to the children under her care. Your child will be her top priority, with your entire family’s wellbeing a close second. Outside of her expertise with sleep (I have joked that she is the “baby whisperer” in this regard) Mary has a very special touch and instinct in caring for kids, especially newborns. As our daughter started to eat solids, Mary was a master at getting her to eat vegetables (and she still does!). She would meal prep for us, which was immensely helpful. Mary has worked tirelessly for our family to help us in every way she could. As first time parents, she provided so much advice and support. She genuinely loves the children under her care, is reliable, careful and protective. We had her for a wonderful 1.5 years (and hope to in the future if our stars align again). We made the decision to transition our daughter to daycare, or else we would have loved to continue with her. If you are considering Mary as your child’s caregiver, trust me that you will come to feel as lucky as we did that we found her. I would be happy to speak with anyone seeking a reference if considering her.
