I have several years of experience working with children of different disability levels. I had a weekly babysitting job with a little girl who had mobility issues for three years and learned during this job how to do limited physical therapy and work with a child with leg braces and hand braces. I have also cared for children with Down's Syndrome and older children who were on the Autism spectrum. I learned from all these experiences patience with these special children and the joy that they bring into your life when you care for them. Now I am a nurse and I have gained knowledge of the medical care side of caring for special needs children and a more therapeutic ways to communicate and care for them which I believe will help me improve my care of these children even more. I am passionate for children with special needs because they are too often underestimated or misunderstood and just called bad children. I believe that children with special needs need special caregivers and I believe I am one of those people who is gifted in caring for these children with a whole lot of love and patience.
