As a certified English teacher, seasoned as a professional writer and editor and by more than 10 years of teaching and tutoring, I draw from a sizable toolbox to accelerate advancement and go above and beyond to achieve results. As readers, my students learn to see the big picture and get the facts straight. As writers, they gain focus, power, and depth. English can be baffling because it is a hybrid with diverse roots and rules. I delight in helping students crack the code and gain mastery of this language of more than a million words. Available online and in person, I tailor lessons to individual needs, including help with the SAT and state exams. As a history buff with a BA in the subject, I also offer knowledgeable guidance in social studies. My students range from kindergarteners to adults and include ESL learners.
