About Mckenna

I'm from a very large, tight-knit, atypical family. I'm the second-born of four children and spent most of my childhood helping my mom with my little brothers, who are fraternal twins five years younger than myself. I have extensive experience with developmental and intellectual disabilities. My brother Aidan is profoundly autistic, intellectually disabled, completely nonverbal, and has a variety of complex medical needs. I've been one of his caregivers from an early age, and that work expands through today. I've since become a certified care provider (PD-HPC) through the Ohio DODD to further my goal of assisting people like my brother and helping families like mine. I also have experience with less severe types of neurodivergence. My older sister has high-functioning/low-support autism (also referred to as Asperger's syndrome) and my other brother has ADHD. Needless to say, I'm no stranger to children who struggle with executive functioning, impulse control, or hyperactive behavior.
