About Mckenna

Aloha, My favorite job I've ever had was as a nanny the summer before my senior year of college. The children were 3, 4, and 6 years old and so much fun. I've always felt comfortable around children, being the oldest of 5 kids myself. That summer I intentionally used gentle parenting techniques & I flexed my patience and conflict-resolution skills during tantrums. It is very important to me that children feel heard and respected, and I have found that they will listen respectfully in return. Beyond that summer, I have worked with children of all ages in various settings. In high school, I was a junior counselor at a summer camp, with groups of girls ages 10-13 in my cabin. In college I studied sociology, but still gravitated towards the Adolescent Development Psychology class out of sheer interest. I am CPR-certified and I have a car. I am comfortable with dogs and cats. I enjoy being active (yoga, hiking) and indoor activities (movies, board games, crafts).
