I have worked as a one-on-one preschool teacher for children with varying exceptionalities. My students have diagnoses such as battens disease, cerebral palsy, and autism. For the student who was terminally ill with battens disease I also provided respite care while he was on hospice. I also have the privilege of coaching special needs cheer for girls age 5-42. This has provided me with additional experience with autism and cerebral palsy along with down syndrome, schizophrenia, shunts, and seizure disorders. I am very calm and responsive in emergency situations. I am comfortable with feeding tubes, oxygen machines, suction machines and rescue meds (or daily meds). I am open to new experiences because I am pursuing a career in special education.
