About Maylena

I like working with kids because I love being able to help kids grow into amazing people. I want to be able to help them keep a positive outlook on the future and the things they love to do. I started working with kids when I was about 13. I got my first babysitting gig and was so excited. Since then I've babysat here and there and currently just stopped working at an afterschool/ summer program for kids ages 4-10. In my spare time, I like to watch movies, hang out with my sisters and partner, go on walks/hikes, cuddle my cats, paint/color and sometimes go on spontaneous trips. My skills include being patient, having compassion and communication. I know how being a kid can be stressful. You have so many emotions but don't know how to express them, so I know that having patients with them, being compassionate and knowing how to help them communicate is a must.
