About Maya

I would describe my personality as kind and caring, innovative, and fun-loving! I love working with kids because young people are deserving of fun, loving experiences. With a background in Early Childhood Education, I recognize play as the key to learning. I believe in the importance of getting dirty, & compassionate care taking. I'm looking for a job that I feel is rewarding. I look forward to offering care to low-income & otherwise marginalized families. I have been working with kids since I was very young. I have much experience babysitting and some experience nannying. In my spare time, I like to read, write poetry, swim, hike, ice skate & more! One thing you should know about me is that I am Indigenous and have facial tattoos. I have tribal markings on my chin that can be covered with makeup if necessary. These lines are symbolic of my ancestry. My skills include persistence & patience, time management & my ability to go-with-the-flow as necessary!
