About Maya

I started working with kids when I was 12 and got my babysitting certificate. I babysat occasionally for neighbors and family friends. When I was 16, I taught ski lessons at Blue hills, primarily to 2-12-year-olds. I also taught math to children in grades 1-8 at Mathnasium for a little under a year. I am passionate about mental health and early intervention! In working towards my undergraduate degree in Neuroscience, I have taken a course on child development and a course on child psychopathology. In these courses I learned about both typical and atypical child development, in addition to learning about the symptoms of several common childhood psychiatric conditions. This has led me to begin applying to graduate school mental health counseling programs for Fall 2025! My skills include creative ways of teaching children math, problem solving skills, safety, and getting kids to enjoy being outside. I am also patient, curious and willing to do join in with whatever the kids enjoy doing.
