Maya was our nanny and then just stopped showing up unexpectedly. We agreed on doing long term and after about 6 weeks, on a Sunday she sent us a vague text (after us initially texting her to check-in on the next work week) about wanting to quit but with no specifics of when she would stop working for us. She didn't respond to any texts or calls and did not show up the next day, leaving my wife and I to scramble to find a day care or backup nanny since we both work full-time jobs. It was unprofessional and dishonest to quit with no notice or communication after specifying to us she wanted to stay long term. We had no issues before this incident and the only reason she is getting two stars, instead of one, is because she was great with our daughter before this happened.
