About Maya

I am a joyful and committed child care worker looking for jobs while I am in pursue a graduate degree in Art therapy and Counseling. I have 10 years of experience working in homes, and as a teacher in Montessori schools, Head Start schools, and Public schools. I have worked with newborns through 13-year-olds and I absolutely love learning about child development through the years. I practice empathetic/nurturing childcare techniques. I have experience working with children on the autism spectrum as well as those with developmental disabilities. I am passionate about providing safe, educational, artistic, sensory, movement-based, imaginative, and developmentally appropriate experiences for ALL children. As a full time student focusing in childhood mental health and art therapy I am constantly learning new and exciting ways to engage children and offer them opportunities to express themselves!
