About Maurissa

I'd describe my personality as friendly, hardworking, and dedicated. I like working with kids because I get to teach them new things while building relationships with them and their families. I'm looking for a job where I am an additional member of your family, not just the babysitter. I started working with kids when I was 13. I have watched many children from newborn to teens. I worked in a local Christian school in the cafeteria and in the after school care program. In my spare time, I like to hang out with my family and friends. Going to the movies, playing games, and going to play volleyball are some of my hobbies. One thing you should know about me is I am a people person. I like to get to know people and build relationships. My skills include patience and understanding. I feel like I do really well in helping kids to feel safe and I allow them to be themselves. I stay calm when under pressure and handle tantrums and conflicts well.
