My name is Maureen, and I am a graduate student at Drexel University. I enjoy taking care of children very much, and I have gained first hand experience as the oldest of six children. Since I began studying at Bryn Mawr College, I have worked as a babysitter for several families with children ranging from 9 months to 1 1/2 years. I also volunteered abroad at a children orphanage in Kenya. While I served here, I took care of babies and children from the age of 2 weeks to 9 years who had lost their parents to HIV/AIDS. This was a really wonderful opportunity where I learned about the needs of children and how to meet their concerns as well as brighten their day.
