About Maura

I'd describe my personality as funny, patient, and creative. I like tutoring because I get to create a safe environment for my student's unique voice to be heard. The traditionally education system is not set up for everyone and I can help. I'm looking for a job that is more of a collaboration between my clients and myself. I want the environment to feel safe, playful, and creative for learning and growth. I respect myself and others and expect the same from my clients. I started tutoring about 10 years ago. In my spare time, I like to devise theatre! I am a actor, writer, and clown! I graduated from Second City and also teach improv and theatre. One thing you should know about me is I am honest and compassionate. I work with students as a whole person and not just a grade. My skills include executive functioning, academic management, and ISEE test prep.
