Hi, my name is Matthew and I am currently a sophomore attending Michigan State. I am super passionate about helping others and spreading kindness. I have a lot of experience working with kids from all backgrounds in a variety of settings. Over this past summer, I worked for 9 weeks as a counselor for a Special Needs Playground Program. I worked with campers aged 5-26, with disabilities ranging from Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and ADHD to Cerebral Palsy and wheel chair bound individuals. As a counselor, we would handle anything from bathroom and changing needs to behavior issues to entertaining. I am looking for a position working with a special needs person to not only assist with care and immediate needs but to connect with and work towards goals.
