I'd describe my personality as compassionate, great sense of humor and very patient. I also communicate well. I deeply appreciate caring for seniors. It is extremely rewarding for me and it comes very natural for me :-)!! I've been caring for seniors regularly for the the past 30 years. I'm a licensed massage therapist and have been managing my own massage practice for the past 7 years in Canandaigua. Therapeutic massage and caring for others is most absolutely my calling :-). You and your loved one will always have an authentic, down to earth and genuine experience with me :-)! I bring many wonderful qualities to my work and am very proud of that. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile and thank you for considering me. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Mason cared for our 82 year old father in both a home and hospital environment for the final months of his life leading up to when he passed away. Mason was a profound blessing to our family. Our family strongly recommends Mason to others. He provided excellent skills, care, and a deep personal compassion that recognized the value and dignity of our father in the final months of his life, both at home and in a hospital setting. When caring for Dad at home, Mason provided personal care, cooking, cleanup, medication admin, bandage/wound care, and companionship with genuine interest, respect, and light hearted conversation. He brought his professional skills as a massage therapist, addressing our dad's pain and allowing him to find deep sleep. At the hospital, Mason's care was thoughtful, compassionate, and in partnership with hospital staff to accomplish tasks like being able to take our dad outside in a wheelchair for fresh air and a fresh perspective after being in a hospital room. His presence allowed our mom to address pressing meetings with doctors and care for home needs, with the peace of mind that Dad was in capable and caring hands when other family members could not be present. Mason kept daily care journal notes evidencing medical knowledge, attentiveness to Dad's ongoing medical needs and our family concerns, and celebration of small daily victories for him. Mason's warmth, care, and concern extended to the rest of our family as he checked in on how we were doing personally, and encouraged rest and self-care so we could be the best support to our father in the long journey of his decline and passing. In summary, Mason demonstrated these skills as a caregiver: -Competent, Compassionate, and Encouraging -Perceptive of needs -Knowledgeable of scientific approaches and medical needs -Quite dependable -Able to stay on task -Able to pleasantly challenge a patient to take another step, another bite, or do the next needed thing in their daily priorities -a gift to the family as well as the individual person he cares for
