I've worked with all kinds of people with disabilities including my brother who is non verbal all my life. I currently, for 1 year have been working part time as a site lead with the City of Henderson for the On the Go program, a program for teens and adults with disabilities. I have a passion for working with people with disabilities and put their happiness and safety first when working with them. My skills include being a good lead when out with the person with special needs and showing them how to do things, such as making crafts, cooking, folding laundry, basic conversation etc. I can work under stressful situations I've worked in plenty of situations at work, I can help the person with special needs calm down and use skills to help calm down when they are anxious, angry, stressed etc. I'm not afraid to be hands on if needed. My brother who is non-verbal and lower functioning hits himself when he is having a headache or some sort of pain and my dad and I do holds if needed.
