My name is Mary Rose and I am currently a Special Education teacher on the elementary level. I hold certificates in General/Special Education on the Elementary level, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and have my Masters of Science for Literacy. I am also working as an Assistant Coach for the Youth Wheelchair division of New York Road Runners. I have experience working with children, teenagers, and adults with diagnoses such as: Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Muscular Atrophy, and various learning disabilities. I absolutely love working with children and would love any opportunity to fulfill this!

I was very cautious of who I would hire to watch my 11 year old son who has autism. I felt it had to be someone very patient and had knowledge of the disorder. I have to say that it had to be God who put this young lady in our path. I simply cannot say enough about Mary Rose and what she has meant to our son and our entire family for the past few months. Mary Rose has done so much more than merely supervise my son. When my son was struggling with his school work especially his math, she spent time working closely with him. As a result, he has improved tremendously. He is doing so much better that even his teacher has notice the difference. We will miss her this summer but look forward to seeing her again in the new school year.
