About Maryn

My name is Maryn! I am Freshman at UMass Amherst, originally from Montana. I have a car on campus, a clean driving record, and am CPR and first aid certified. I am an older sister with 2 younger brothers and 3 dogs, so I perform well under a bit of chaos. I started babysitting when I was in 6th grade, but growing up I was always put in charge as I was the oldest and most responsible out of our friends kids. Each summer, I work at youth camps focused on art and outdoor activities, which has taught me fun ways to engage kids. I also tutored in high school. In my free time, I read, cook, embroider, and enjoy the outdoors, especially in the mountains or on the river. I enjoy working with kids because I learn from them and find their energy refreshing. I have developed amazing relationships with the kids I have nannied in the past because I am present and pay attention to the little things. My skills include deescalating issues, keeping kids entertained, and foreseeing potential problems
