About Mary

Mary is an exceptional caregiver in every way. We have been working with her for just over a year, and plan to continue doing so if our new schedules permit. We love Mary! Mary is spectacular with our daughter. She started working with us when our daughter was six months old, and built a rapport with her immediately. Mary loves to take our daughter on little trips and adventures, whether that's to the park for playtime, or to the grocery store to learn about different kinds of fruit. She's amazing at finding playful, developmentally appropriate activities. Plus, our daughter adores her - we have to be careful about saying "Mary" in front of her these days or she starts crying for her "May-May!" While we only have one child, we arranged to share care with another family with an older child. Mary was great about managing both kids and I would highly recommend her whether you have one child or more than one. As a parent, Mary made everything easy. I always came home to a house that was cleaner than I left it, and Mary is also willing to do light errands when it's compatible with childcare. She is thoroughly dependable and communicates both clearly and quickly. When our daughter couldn't go to day care, she was often available on short notice to help out - and when she was not available, she was able to refer us to backup childcare, which is really going above and beyond! She was also willing to take our daughter for overnights. If you hire Mary, I would suggest allowing 5 extra minutes at each hand off, because Mary's style is to check in with you and with your child regularly. I appreciated it a lot and I think it helped build a positive relationship with our whole family, but it does mean you will want to avoid timing that is super tight. The secret bonus to hiring Mary is that she's a trained photographer, so you will periodically get professional-quality photos of your kids. :) Basically, Mary is great, we wish we could give her more hours, and we hope you have as excellent an experience working with her as we have.
