About Mary

I have years of experience jumping into new situations and quickly being able to function as if I've been there a long time. I have been caring for children both in my family and outside the family all my life. I ran my sister's daycare during her extended illness, and took full care of her two infants at the same time. When she eventually died, I helped finish raising her kids (teenagers by that time). I am gentle, kind, patient and loving. I love children, and they very quickly love me. I am a fun person, from a child standpoint. I am happy to play kid games or read to your children. I could teach beginning piano (and have done it). I am extremely creative and able to do crafts, arts, and fun activities that also provide learning opportunities for the children. One of my favorite things is making up stories with children, pulling creativity out of their imaginations. I am an excellent cook. I make nutritious food children like to eat. I've had CPR and first aid training. I have been a tutor to grade school children in an after-school program (several years). I can help with all kinds of homework.

Mary has worked with my elementary age twins for 5 years on a nearly full time basis, and we are so grateful to have had Mary with our family for so long. We are now scaling back due to a change in jobs but I would highly recommend Mary to other families. My husband and I both work full time and often irregular hours during which we were not able to leave work, therefore we've needed someone who was able to operate in every realm of our kids' daily life, from wake-up to bedtime and everything in between: kids' activities, play-dates, driving, cooking, homework and music practice. She even helped us with laundry, plant and pet care. She approaches her work with integrity, honesty and commitment. She is outstandingly reliable and committed to being present for our family as if it were her own. She was generous with her time, often staying extra to make sure everything that needed to be done was done, and kindly would stay late on short notice when needed. Very highly recommend.
