This is the background check we require for all caregivers.
Experience: 10 yrs
I am RN and have worked at a Hospice Home, as well as other nursing positions. Being a private caregiver allows me to spend more quality time with my patient. I encourage conversation and stimulating activities as much as the person is comfortable with. I feel that seniors should be treated with great care and respect, as much as a person of any age. I truly always strive to see my patients as people first, and their mental and physical issues second. I consider it an honor to serve people in their senior years. Seniors go through many many changes, and they can experience stress due to feeling a lack of control. I try to have a compassionate attitude, and give them as much control as they can safely handle in their day to day life. Generally, I encourage social activities and interactions with my seniors. As an RN, I can assist my patients with their medication, coordinate with their healthcare team, accompany them to their medical appointments, and give support to family members.
