marybeth review I hired Marybeth during possibly the most difficult and stressful time of my life. My mother was terminally ill and had been receiving in home aid during the days while I was at work. After an extremely rapid decline I found myself needing twenty-four hour care within the next eighteen hours. In the midst of frantically calling various agencies, all of whom were unable to start for at least two weeks, one of my current caregivers reached out to Marybeth to see if she was available on short notice. Fortunate for me, she made herself available. I can not imagine what it is like to walk into someone’s house, to sit with someone who is dying, to take care of their needs and watch them all night, and also to interact, not just politely, but fully engage with, members of their family. That is exactly what Marybeth did. I sat with my mom and Marybeth for as long as i could stay awake that night, and she talked to me like a friend, like someone who I had known my whole life. She was not bothered that I was there, standing watch with her, or that I talked to her for better than half of the night. She was also not distracted from her patient; she was vigilant and took meticulous notes. I felt very comfortable relying on her experience and expertise. My dog is usually cautious around people she doesn’t know however she liked Marybeth as soon as she came through the door. Despite having only expected her to stay for a 10 hour shift, she stayed for 14 to make sure that I had someone with me and my mom until one of her daytime caregivers arrived. The only thing I would have changed was I wish that my mother had still been lucid enough to have really met Marybeth, I know that she would have felt as fortunate as I did that we had such a caring and competent woman watching over her. In 14 hours she became an extremely significant part of my life and whenever I think of my mothers last few days I will be comforted remembering that Marybeth was a part of it.
