About Martha

I love working with kids for a lot of reasons. I love their curiosity and energy for life. I love seeing how they grow and learn, and watching as they start to discover who they are. I find being there to guide them through new life experiences so fulfilling. It takes time to bond with a child and gain their trust, and my favorite parts of working with kids is seeing how they start to see you as someone who will comfort them when they're sad, protect them when they're scared, and be proud of them for every new step they take in life. I started formally working with kids when I was 18. I worked at a summer camp called Camp Lakamaga as a counselor in summer 2022 and a Program Specialist in summer 2023. I was living on-site and gained lots of experience with kids aged 6-14. In October I started working at a early childhood school as an aide, and since January I've been working exclusively in their preschool room as an assistant. I've also worked in their toddler and Pre-K rooms as well.
