Dear Hiring Committee: It is with great enthusiasm that I apply for this position as a Behavior Technician. My passion for working with people who have autism began at a young age, as I played alongside my cousin who has Asperger's syndrome. He is one of the most amazing, interesting people I have ever met. Later, as I grew older, I learned from my parents and from my aunt that much of my cousin's progress in development was directly related to the early intervention and intensive ongoing behavioral therapy that he received. When I recently graduated from college, I was fortunate to begin working as a behavioral technician with several children, and then recently intensively with a young, 5-year-old girl. My work was so appreciated that I received the employee of the month award based on the strength of my core values. The family I am currently working with is transitioning their child to public school and therefore I am eager to begin working with other children. Sincerely Martha D.
