About Marissa

I have been working with all sorts of age groups ever since I was in middle school. It all started in 7th grade when my church finally allowed me to start working in the nursery with the infants and toddlers. I worked there all through middle school and high school and absolutely loved it. I later became an annual VBS leader at my church, and depending on the year, I got to work with 1st-5th graders. Mid-way through high school I started working at my high school's summer swim program as a lifeguard and swim instructor, teaching children stokes and techniques that I was and still am very passionate about. It made me so happy I got to educate kids from the ages 1-15 life skills and safety rules that everyone should know, especially at a young age. After I graduated high school I became summer youth counselor for Mariners church in Irvine. Through all the childcare experience I have come upon throughout my life I have enjoyed it all immensely. Kids have a certain way of bringing joy to my life and never fail to cheer up my mood. Having a 9-year-old brother, and there being a 10 year age difference between us, I have really gotten to see what is going on inside the little but very bright minds of younger ones.
