About Marissa

Hi there! My name is Marissa and I am an educator with over 10 years of experience. I am passionate about creating safe, loving, engaging, and strength-based learning and play environments for kids. I got my master's degree in education from University of Portland and have endorsements in Special Education and English for Speakers of Other Languages. I am currently an elementary Multilingual Learning specialist. I am especially interested in increasing educational access for groups of students who historically face barriers. Outside of the classroom, I love creating fun adventures for kids that infuse nature, creativity, movement, and pro-social skills. I am a mama to a 2. 5-year-old and have also nannied a 1-year-old. I love to dance (and am a dance teacher), explore nature, be in community, do yoga, meditate, and tend to my mental health. I'd love to connect if you think I'd be a good fit! Primarily looking for summer work with the possibility of extending into the school year.
