About Marissa

We were fortunate enough to have Marissa Martin as our nanny from October 2022 to March 2023. After our first interview Marissa said, "I can't wait to meet my new Best Friends!!" ..and truer words could not have been spoken! Marissa immediately became my 3 year old daughter and 5 year old son's Best Friend. So often children are sad when their parents leave them with a sitter, but when Marissa came over, it was an exciting and wonderful playdate for our little ones. Marissa has the most amazing way with children and quickly became part of our family. She is incredibly patient, kind, and loving. She was able to manage sibling conflicts with ease, never phased by a temper tantrum or grumpy mood. Marissa was always able to handle any situation and always responded in a calm and empathetic way when they were having big feelings. She would often bring fun craft activities to keep them engaged, from painting to children's embroidery or holiday crafts. She'd happily act out scenes from Disney movies, sing along with the Frozen soundtrack, have a dance party or snuggle up and read books. We lovingly referred to her as "Marissa Poppins", but she was even better than Mary Poppins. She brings a special Marissa Magic to everything she does. As a parent, I also appreciated that Marissa always had a positive and go getter attitude. Flexible with last minute schedule changes, easy going about little colds, and even would help with housework if there was extra time, without being asked. When our schedule changed to very early mornings, she didn't blink an eye. She was always ready to help. Marissa is a very special and rare human being and where ever she goes in her life she will thrive. I would recommend Marissa in any capacity.
