About Marisa

I can keep your student engaged and interested while tackling challenging topics! Outside of tutoring, I teach and perform improvisational comedy. My natural silliness and joy help me connect with students and can relieve some of their stress! My consistent updates on their progress helps relieve parents' stress. Besides being very cool and fun, I am also incredibly patient. My very first tutor student was a third grader who couldn't read. We first met in September, and by May she passed her Reading SOL. I have also helped my grandmother to navigate her computer to find her passwords so she would stop making new accounts when she forgot her password. My aunt and mother claim I seemed like I was perfectly happy to be there helping her. I love teaching people, I love helping people, and I love solving problems! I'm also very passionate about my specialty subjects. I want to help people that are afraid of math and I get to practice French when I tutor it! I'm just happy to be here!
