About Marisa

My name is Marisa and I am a proud Mommy of 12-year-old triplets. Currently, I am a Paraprofessional Expert at an elementary school in Lafayette. I have a Master's degree in Human Services with 25 plus years working with adolescents and youth. I love tutoring because my job is to help a learner achieve their academic goals and guide them through their struggles. It truly is rewarding when you physically get to see how your efforts helped improve their skills and then nurture to build their self esteem and confidence. As a tutor my ultimate goal is to help the student become an independent learner. I am very patient and flexible by willing to adjust techniques and approaches to meet the learning styles of the student.
