In a period filled with uncertainty and the unique challenges of the pandemic, Marilin stepped into our lives as a nanny, and swiftly became so much more; she became a cherished part of our family. She joined us when our son was just a year old, a time when as first-time parents, we grappled with concerns and fears. Marilin, with her innate warmth and knowledge, immediately put us at ease. Her remarkable ability to bond was evident from the start. Our son, who had known only the confines of a pandemic-stricken world, blossomed with her tender, caring, and lively spirit. She had a magical way of engaging with him that was both comforting and nurturing. Marilin wasn’t just caring for our son; she enriched his life daily with song, dance, reading, and the simple joy of exploring the world, one park visit at a time. Her dedication shone through in every task, whether it was mastering the art of homemade baby food with a fancy processor we had never used, or sleep training our son, a gift of rest for the entire family. Every act was undertaken with grace, kindness, and an ever-present, heartwarming smile. Though her time with us was just a year, the impact of Marilin’s presence has been indelible. Her departure was bittersweet, as she left to embark on the beautiful journey of motherhood herself. We moved to Petaluma, and while we would have eagerly welcomed her back, we remain grateful for the time we shared. Marilin is the embodiment of a real-life Mary Poppins. To say she sets the bar for nannies would be an understatement. If you are fortunate enough to have this incredible person enter your life, cherish the moment. She’s one in a million.
