About Maria

My passion for elder care grew out of the live-in end-of-life care I provided for my dad and the subsequent care of my mom. While Dad underwent chemo and radiation treatments, I accompanied him to doctor appointments, shopped and fixed meals for him and my mom, helped him with medications, and provided the care he had previously given Mom, who due to strokes and mild dementia had limited mobility and short term memory lapses. I stayed with her for 3 months after my dad's death, until she moved in with my sister. For the next year, I provided respite care for Mom. I greatly appreciated all the wonderful people who helped me care for my parents and want to share that same kindness and love to seniors who wish to stay in their homes, but need some extra help to make that possible. I am calm and patient, with an attention to detail, and love to share happiness with others. I'm a great listener, and enjoy learning from the experience of other people. My sense of humor is pretty good too!
