About Maria

Although I have been involved in tutoring since the beginning of my high school career, my passion for tutoring was truly nurtured during my undergraduate experience. During my time at Northern Michigan University, I took a two credit hour college course on tutoring writing followed by three years of working at the University's Writing Center. Here, I worked as a walk-in tutor for all members of the community, as a retention tutor for students in remedial English courses, and as an online writing tutor. This guided me to my current position as an Ohio College Guide in an urban high school where I am able to continue tutoring students on writing and all ACT subjects. Outside of this experience, I have been involved in tutoring students in all middle school subjects, stand-up bass, and more!
