About Mariam

Hi, I am a PhD student in Political Philosophy here at UCSB. Originally from Georgia (Eastern Europe) I have spent last 5 years in Santa Barbara. I like to make my time with kids fun and educational. As a lover of history (especially antique one), I like to read them stories about historical figures (told in a way that's fun for a child), tales of Greek mythology, etc. I try to come up with thematic games that help enhance children's creativity and fantasy (for example, if we read about Odysseus defeating the cyclops, we can play a game that's on theme with that). I can also help out with school assignments, if needed. I am 11 years older than my sister, so I have spent my entire childhood babysitting and taking care of her. Thus, caregiving comes natural to me. Looking forward to working with you!
