About Maria

I have had about three years of experience as a caregiver for the elderly both at a skilled nursing home and working independently for an in home healthcare agency. While working as caregiver for the elderly, I have acquired the following skills; training in Alzheimer's/dementia, provide assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming prepare and maintain records of clients progress, services performed, housekeeping duties, entertain, converse with, or read aloud to client to keep them mentally healthy and alert, running errands for clients and/or take client to appointments, operate a Sara lift and a Hoyer lift, and use gait belt for transfers. I really enjoy caring for senior citizens because they are so knowledgeable about life's lesson, and their outlook on life to be their age and still be full of life. I like to learn from their life's journey plus they like to reminiscence on their life which seems to bring them so much joy.
