About Maria

My name is Maria and I am a Psych and child ed. student at FGCU! I am 23 years old. I've been in the child care industry since I was 15. I have always loved children and have worked in a school setting for over 2 years. I love working with children because I believe proper care and nurture of children helps create wonderful adults. My preferred age group of children to work with are ages 1-5, but do have experience with ages children 0-12! I worked at a daycare for over a year and had to leave due to health complications. children are truly my joy - I am now healthy and ready to work! My first experience was volunteer work at a middle school. I have also volunteered as a soccer coach and swim coach in the past. I did that for about 2 years. I played both which is why I coached them! I have also have experience with special needs children and they honestly have a special place in my heart, they are the sweetest children ever! I do speak spanish as well as sign language fluently!
