I have joined the care network in order to find placement in a job that is more meaningful than simply a job but that is rewarding through the work I will be doing and the relationships we build. I come from a background of care taking through life experience. I am a mother of one daughter that is now 22. I am the youngest of seven children and have spent a lifetime babysitting for nieces and nephews and now godchildren and great nieces and nephews. I grew up with a sister that has Down syndrome. We were very close and because of her I am a better person. I advocated for her strongly in her last years. I have also helped care for both of my parents. My mother suffered from Alzheimer's and my father later had a stroke. I am an empathic and compassionate person. I take the needs of others to heart. As for my professional career, I spent 20+ years as a legal administrative assistant, in real estate and sales. Additionally, I am a creative writer and proud author of two published books in the poetry and children's book genre. My children's book was written in memory of another sister that I lost from cancer. I believe I am an excellent candidate for helping care for others.
