Fatima was an incredible companion aide for my mom who had advanced Alzheimer’s from 2019 until February 2022, initially starting part-time and then increasing her hours during the pandemic. She treated my Mom like her own and I honestly don't know what I would have done without her. She is kind, loving, and energetic, always meeting my mom where she was in terms of ability. Fatima showed my mom family photo albums, encouraged her to participate in activities at her facility, and when my mom couldn’t join in, Fatima got creative with her own activities, like dancing and exercising. She made sure to take her outside every day. She even worked with physical therapists to learn exercises to do with my Mom, and they were impressed by her skills, saying she could work for them. Fatima is immensely patient, was intuitive to my mom's health and physical needs, and always communicated with me if she noticed something. She encouraged my mom to eat, helping her with utensils and coming up with creative solutions to ensure proper nutrition. Her resourcefulness and experience in elderly health were invaluable. She went above and beyond in not just caregiving, but also cleaning and ensuring my mom was settled before leaving, often staying late. Fatima is also a great cook. In short, Fatima provided exceptional care, and I am deeply grateful for everything she did for our family.
