About Maria

My favorite thing about teaching children is watching the lightbulb go off! It's that moment when the student really GETS it that makes tutoring one of my favorite things to do with kids. Equally worthwhile though, is the journey to that point- watching as they slowly but surely make progress to reach their academic or extracurricular goals! I have current experience in the public school systems as an uncertified substitute, but I have also informally helped my own children with homework over the years and was a peer tutor in high school. My children are currently in Grades two and four. Peer Tutoring was how my love of tutoring got started! I'm an avid music lover, so I am happy to sing and play the acoustic guitar with and to your children. I also used to play softball for years, so am willing to help out with mastering these kinds of skills as needed!
