My name is Maria, and I am very happy to be able to provide special needs care to children and teens in the Hampton Roads area. I act with patience and empathy, and I really appreciate getting to connect with others! Previously, I was a counselor and lifeguard at Camp Holiday Trails, a sleep away camp for children (ages 7-17) with special needs. For this position I was trained to provide care to children and teens with various physical and cognitive disabilities. I also learned plenty of fun games and songs, of course! I have also volunteered with special olympics and similar special needs organizations throughout high school and college. I also have ample tutoring experience with a variety of age groups and am prepared to help with schoolwork if needed. I look forward to working with families in Hampton Roads!
