I live in Sammamish with my husband. I have a BFA in Graphic Design from Brigham Young University. I worked as a graphic designer until my daughter was born in 2001. I spent the next 18 years being a stay-at-home mom, volunteering at school and church with children of all ages. My daughter left home to attend the University of Washington in 2020. I have taken this opportunity to return to work in the childcare and design fields. During the 2020-21 school year, I home-schooled a Kindergartner and a Second Grader from a classroom I created in my home. It was an absolute joy and my students blossomed in a year that was very hard for a lot of kids. During the 2021-22 school year I worked full-time at a private school in Bellevue as a teacher's aide in a gifted 1st Grade class. I also create curriculum for grade-school teachers which I post to a curriculum resource website. Even tho, I've had a lot of experience with grade-school kids, I really love infants and toddlers too!

Maria was a blessing of a connection during the pandemic. We decided to homeschool our kids (not following school curriculum) and she provided the best academic year my kids have had to-date, a time they still talk about often. She was more than a teacher, she cared for our kids and we felt she had their best interest at all times. Maria took teaching to a level I would not have been able to and made it fun and enriching. She did not intend to be a teacher that year, but she did an amazing job, was a great communicator, planner, consistent and flexible. My kids absolutely loved being with Maria!
