About Maria

Investing in early childhood care and development has always been my passion. Working with children is something I've never considered a chore. Helping them to feel confident, heard, and loved is a great joy for me. I started working with kids in an official capacity in undergrad when I took some early childhood development classes and shadowed in an elementary school. Since then, I have volunteered with sports and tutoring non-profits both abroad (Russia and Kenya) and in Washington D. C. I really value nurturing curiosity through hands on learning experiences. Creative crafts, reading, museums, cooking, nature walks and playing outside as much as possible are ways I like to spend time with children. Some projects I've done with children I've cared for in the past have been writing and illustrating our own books, pressing flowers to make cards and making pizzas from scratch!
