I have worked with special needs my entire life; my older brother has down syndrome, autism, and experienced seizures as a baby that left him nonverbal and severely mentally retarded. After helping my parents with my brother, I moved on to working with families with special needs in their homes. My experience is most extensive with autism, limited and nonverbal communication, cerebral palsy and mobility challenges, epilepsy including knowledge and use of emergency seizure protocol at home and in public, and NG and G-Tube feeding and medication administration. I am very comfortable with helping with daily needs including mealtime, toileting, showering, and personal hygiene. I have overseen physical therapy, adaptive physical exercise, occupational and speech therapy in conjunction with both hospital and school professionals. I also have CPR and first aid training.

Margaret has been working with our family supporting our young adult son who has Cerebral Palsy. Our experience with Margaret has shown her to be caring, thoughtful, reliable and responsible. She proactively looks for ways to improve our son's daily care and his quality of life, and has been willing and able to take on additional responsibilities over the course of her time working with us. We trust Margaret to always have our son's best interest in mind and to be a source of support and kindness for him.
