My experience as a senior care giver was phenomenal and I enjoyed every bit of time I was able to care for my clients at my previous employer. My job duties included bathing, grooming, cooking, grocery shopping, household maintenance (interior and exterior), paying bills, and overall companionship. I am very passionate about working with senior citizens and the disabled because it is something that I have done all my life. From working at a Respite care facility to spending the majority of my childhood with my senior grandparents caring for them from the age of 13 until I went off to college. When I moved to Michigan State University I was able to find a part-time job as a direct care worker for an agency that housed senior citizens and disabled young adults who could not care for themselves on their own. Helping others and putting smiles on people faces means a lot to me and I know that their families appreciate the extra help when they cannot be with their loved ones around clock.
