I live on a small farm and have been around animals my entire life. My love for animals was passed to my son who is autistic and the bond he shares with our animals is beautiful. I have trained all of our dogs to follow hand commands without having to speak a word. While I do not have formal training, I have done extensive research and feel confident that I am qualified to teach the basics, which would be as follows. Sit, stay, lay down, high five, shake (I use nice to meet you and how are you?) heel, walking on a leash, riding in a car (how to sit properly and not move around the car), to come when called, and to walk with you without being leashed. House training a scratch at the door or ringing a bell when they need to go out. Positive reinforcement is used. I do not believe in hitting an animal EVER! I also teach them to stay off furniture, cart train, and NO jumping on people!
